Escape characterizes human hair follicle stem cells.
Escape Therapeutic announces the online publication of its research on hair follicle stem cells. The article is titled "Differential expression of stem cell markers in human follicular bulge and interfollicular epidermal compartments" and was led by Escape scientists Drs. Shu Jiang, MD, PhD and Longmei Zhao, MD, PhD. The study sheds light on the unique stem cell markers expressed by hair follicle stem cells found in two skin reservoirs. Escape expects this research to aid in obtaining pure populations of hair follicle stem cells that can be used for the treatment of hair loss disorders. The senior author on the article is Dr. Basil M. Hantash, MD, PhD, Escape's Chief Executive Officer.
